In this article, we will compare the 2 biggest competitors in the free-to-use OTT Apps scene. A lot of people are confused between the Castle and Pikashow apps, so we will go through their content, user experience and user interface, Language options, Premium model, etc. We will go through their pros and cons and give our opinion on which one we think is the best right now. My goal in this article is to make it easier for you to choose the best app for you.
Introduction
We are comparing the Castle and Pikashow apps in this article mainly because they are competitors as they allow people to watch movies, web series, TV Shows, Live Sports, and other channels, etc. for free. They are not completely free I mean they don’t charge money just your time, they make you watch ads if you want to watch content on their platform.
This article will help you analyze both the apps better, differentiate between the two and hopefully decide which one you will go for. I will also explain my experience of using the app and my opinion about both of them.
Overview of Both Apps
Castle:
Castle is an OTT app where you can watch entertainment content such as movies, web series, TV Shows, live sports, and other TV channels, etc. All of which is free to watch the catch is that you have to watch some ads.

Pikashow:
Pikashow is another OTT app where can watch only certain entertainment categories like movies, web series, and live TV only. They don’t have an option to watch live sports or TV shows. All the content here is free to watch as well just there are some ads.
Key Features:
- Free to use
- Content added 2-3 times a week.
- Live TV
- Content from Bollywood and Hollywood.
- Easy Interface
- Content Library and Variety
Castle lets you watch content from different countries all sorted out for you to navigate. They have added content from the following film industries so far: India, the US, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Russia, Europe, etc. They have content in all genres and categories like Comedy, Mystery, Drama, Thriller, Horror, Romance, Crime, Documentary, Cartoon, etc. Castle app also has content sorted by year of release, which OTT app they are from, Languages, and a lot of other options to sort out the content. The content is updated almost daily.
Pikashow has content from only 2 countries which are India and the US. They also have content from a lot of genres but there is no option to sort them out. There is no option to sort out content whatsoever. There is only a search button, that’s it. It is hard to say how often content is updated on Pikashow.
Accessibility and Device Compatibility
The Castle app works on both Android and iOS devices. You can alternatively use them on PC by using Android emulators like bluestacks.
The app has the feature to download content for offline viewing which comes in handy when you are traveling or when you don’t have a stable internet connection.
The Pikashow app works on Android and iOS devices. You can also use them on your PC using Android emulators like bluestacks.
The app doesn’t have the feature to download content for offline viewing.
Ad-Supported vs. Premium Model
The Castle app is free to use but with ads. But if you find ads annoying and have 100 INR to spend, it can be worthy it since you don’t need any other OTT subscription if you have Castle Premium. There is a trial offer for premium so you will have to buy it directly if you want ads free app. Some content gets unlocked when you buy premium which is not available on the free version. The premium version also allows you to watch and download videos in higher quality like 2K, 4k, etc.
The Pikashow app doesn’t have a premium version so you will have to watch the ads every time you watch some content. However, the frequency of the ads on Pikashow is a bit less than Castle.
User Engagement Features
The Castle app has a great user interface. It allows you to sort out content in a lot of ways like country, language, genres, year of release, etc. It also allows you to add movies to watch later. You can create different profiles on the app if multiple people are using it or you can enable parental control on some profiles if kids are using it. Creating multiple profiles helps with showing recommended movies for certain users.
The Pikashow app also has a good interface. But it lacks many important features like sorting out the content and adding movies to watch later. Also, the app doesn’t let you create multiple profiles as well.
Final Verdict and Recommendation
Overall I would say there is no comparison between both apps. Castle app is way superior to Pikashow app in a lot of things like content, user interface, offline viewing feature, ad-free option, Chromecast feature, etc.
So, I would recommend you to use the Castle app if you are not sure what you want to watch or are looking to watch the latest content, live sports, and a lot more. You can go with Pikashow if you have the content that you want to watch in mind. You can also have both and just search for the movie and there might be some that are available in Castle and some in Pikashow.
